The Royal Cremation day for the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej (King Rama IX) will be on Thursday October 26, 2017. It has been declared as a public holiday and many businesses will close to allow people to join the ceremony. The ceremony will start early at 6am on October 26 and the actual cremation will be at 10pm.

Thai people are wearing black clothes for the whole October month to mourn for the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Bangkok's Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha will be closed from October 1-29, 2017 as they are the venue of the Royal Cremation. During October 25-27, many public transports will offer free services while some routes will be closed to traffic. Here are the list of business closure during October and specifically on October 26, 2017.

- Banks will close all day including branches in shopping malls

- Post offices will close all day

- 7-Eleven convenience stores, Fresh Mart and True Shops will close from 2:30 pm to midnight

- Central department stores, except CentralWorld and Central Plaza Rama II, will close at 3pm

- Robinson department stores will close at 3pm

- The Mall department stores will close at 3pm

- HomeWork and Index Living Mall will close all day

- Makro will close at 3pm

- Tesco Lotus will close at 2pm

- Big C will close at 3pm

- KFC will close at 3pm
